Whilst February was the driest February on record for over 30 years, March and April were the wettest in over 10 years. This was due to an east coast low which created flooding in the Sydney basin.
The rain was much needed in the wetland but was still not enough to re-saturate the soil so it could retain the run off.
The spiders were plentiful and dining on insects attracted to the puddles
